She fits in perfectly—an essential piece that I can’t believe I’ve gone without for so long.

The door swings open and there she is.

I swallow. Hard. Because lord, she’s a sight.

She’s wearing nothing but my flannel and a tired smile and I can’t get enough of it. Her feet are as bare as her legs as she pads into the living room toward me.

“Morning, Beau,” she says, squinting at me.

“Morning, Sweetheart,” I say without thinking as I drag my fingertips across her cheek.

Can’t help myself.

That sweet smile of hers grows wider before sucking in her bottom lip and releasing it a few moments later. “Sweetheart?”

I grunt, stroking the hair above her ear. “Just slipped out,” I rasp, eyes focused on her lips.

“I don’t mind,” she says, wetting her lips with her tongue.

Just a taste.

Just one taste is all I’m asking for, but I know it will never be enough. If Quinn let me taste those sweet lips I wouldn’t fucking stop. She’d never leave this cabin, and she’d be out of a job.

I’d be out of one too because I’d be too fucking busy burying my face between her thighs to paint.

Might be worth it.

I lean toward her and she rolls onto her toes. We’re less than six inches away when our stomachs growl in unison and both of us laugh.

“Looks like we’re both hungry,” Quinn says, her eyes darting to my lips.
